Karinne Wiebold is a senior economist with the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development in Juneau, where her work is regularly featured in the Alaska Economic Trends magazine. Her research includes annual jobs forecasts, the effects of covid, tourism, cannabis, the gender wage gap, seafood processing, and housing. She supervises the team that produces and analyzes Alaska’s primary economic data including jobs, wages, unemployment rates, and workplace injuries and fatalities.  Prior to joining the State of Alaska, she worked in housing and community development in Colorado.
