Brandon Jones is an active member of the construction and real estate team, and has been with the firm since 1996 and in the profession since 1994.
Brandon provides a variety of tax compliance and planning services to clients. He has extensive experience in the areas of S corporations, C corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and individuals. He also has experience in mergers and acquisitions, tax methods and periods, state and local taxation, and IRS examinations.
Brandon is the lead tax specialist for the Minneapolis office in construction tax accounting. He has been instrumental on many accounting method changes for clients over the years and has implemented unique tax strategies that have provided his clients abundant savings. Brandon is also the Minneapolis designated expert on like-kind exchanges. He has helped many clients structure and facilitate the deferral of tax through like-kind exchanges.
Brandon Maves is the firm’s national construction industry leader and the co-leader of the construction and real estate practice based in Minneapolis. He has served the industry for 17 years. He has experience providing business audit and advisory services to all segments of the construction industry, including general, sub- and specialty contractors, real estate owners, investors, real estate developers, commercial brokerage firms and property management firms. Brandon’s industry knowledge has allowed him to serve the municipal, single and multifamily residential, industrial, commercial, hospitality and retail segments of the construction marketplace.
Brandon also performs internal control documentation and analysis, administrative and back-office restructuring projects, strategic planning, benchmarking, merger and acquisition assistance for both business and income-producing real estate, regulatory compliance projects, and litigation support and expert testimony in the construction industry.
